Welcome

Well done to Adare in Pride of Place where we came runners up in Ireland.
The picture of our Cubs and Scouts was used in the magazine to promote our village where we put on a barbecue for all involved in Pride of Place.

Pride of Place

Let me just tell you a little bit about our group. We are part of the organisation of Scouting Ireland. At the moment 9th Limerick Adare has a Scout troop and Cub pack. Cubs take a break for the summer while scouts are active all year round. Our group began in August 1982 and we were the first group in Munster to have both male and female scouts. When we began we were in the Luachra district with West Cork, Kerry and West Limerick. Luachra was split into two districts at a later date as it was too difficult to cover such a large area we then changed to Tiramore and now we are part of Limerick Scout County. Each Scout group wears a distinctive coloured scarf to identify it within its own district, Adare's being a red triangular scarf edged in black with our logo on the back. For details on the individual troops just click on the links above.

Curraghchase is our local camping ground for training our scouts and getting them used to staying under the canvas. It is one of 12 National forest parks in the country. For more details on how to camp here just visit www.curraghchase.com
